Electric cargo bikes built around what you bring
A cargo e-bike is a practical choice when the trip includes more than the rider. The important difference is where the extra weight goes: a passenger needs a suitable seating setup, grocery bags need a compatible carrier, and outdoor or work gear may need space on both ends of the bike. Our cargo lineup gives each job a clear starting point: DUO for shared rides, AmpTrail for gear across multiple mounting points, and SummitRide for loaded trips that cover more ground.
DUO: make room for a second rider
If a passenger is part of your regular plans, start with the DUO cargo e-bike. Its integrated rear rack supports a compatible passenger setup. On a shopping day, that rear area can take compatible cargo accessories instead of passenger equipment. For a shared ride, count the passenger and seating gear against the rack's separate limit; for groceries, count the bags on that same rack as well as the bike's total load.
AmpTrail: spread gear across the bike
For equipment that does not belong in one rear bag, our fat tire cargo e-bike, AmpTrail, has a pre-installed MIK HD rear rack and mounting points for a compatible front rack and panniers. Put small items in compatible panniers and reserve the rear rack for a larger bag, keeping each carrier within its rating. Its wide tires also make it a cargo option when the route to a campsite, worksite or trailhead includes permitted unpaved ground.
SummitRide: carry goods through a longer day
If your cargo trip combines a pickup, several stops and the ride home, the SummitRide cargo e-bike pairs a MIK HD carrying setup with a larger standard battery and an optional range extender. Its step-through frame helps when you get off to collect or drop off items at each stop. On a route with a morning pickup, afternoon deliveries and no charging stop, its two battery setups give you a choice based on the full day's mileage.
Match the carrying hardware to the load
For a passenger, DUO's integrated rear rack needs compatible seating, handholds and foot supports. For a grocery run, compatible rear bags on DUO or panniers on AmpTrail give smaller items their own space. A large delivery bag needs a secure base: measure it against the carrier platform and verify attachment points, not just the bike's total load rating. Our cargo bike accessories include a front rack and rear panniers; check model compatibility and the separate rating for each installed carrier before loading them.
